Candid Conversations of Conscience is a monthly conversation with churches, organizations and thinking individuals.
Candid Conversations of Conscience Series 2021
Using literature and media to target contemporary issues affecting the world, the church and our lives today. These sessions will be opportunities to ask questions, receive feedback and engage in meaningful dialogue with other professing Christians who want to make a difference. Reading the book or seeing the movie is not necessary but advised. You only have to attend both sessions of the book discussion. Each session repeats itself. The sessions are 90 minutes long.

A practical discussion of some of the themes of Just Mercy- Navigating the issues of justice and mercy from a practical Christian perspective. Micah 6: 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Book: Living with Purpose: An Activist's Guide to Listening, Learning and Leading by Dorothy Heights (Recipient: Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor)
An in-depth conversation and view into the life of Dorothy Irene Height and her view of the purpose of life as well as her view of other civil rights world changers. Psalms 90:12 “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

Book: Across That Bridge: Life Lessons and a Vision for Change (Winner of the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work/Biography) by John Lewis
A practical discussion of how all of us can “get into good trouble” as John Lewis’ shares his view of the civil rights movement and how it relates to us today.
